Principles of Composition with Terry Nathan
UC Davis Professor Terry Nathan will address such topics as frame dynamics and shape; graphic and photographic elements; composing with light and color; visual design basics—including contrast, rhythm, balance, weight, and energy.
The building blocks for creating meaningful photographs have remained unchanged since light was first “imprisoned” by Louis Daguerre more than a century and a half ago. Form and contrast must unify to produce a meaningful and compelling composition. In this workshop, Professor Nathan will discuss and demonstrate the principles of photographic composition.
