Presenting Your Photograph in the Best Light: An Introduction to Matting and Framing With David Wong
In this workshop, you will learn how to size the mat and the best options for margin sizing for specific finished frame sizes. We will demonstrate the conservation mounting of the photo to the backing board and how to keep your prints flat. We will cut a few actual mats for those who bring a small print they would like to cut a mat for. You will learn how to avoid some of the common mistakes photographers make in cutting mats.
For those who want to buy a mat cutter, we will discuss the various types and where to purchase them. Handouts will include resources for paper, mats, ink, canvases, and other framing materials. In addition to matting, we will talk about the different glazing options available. We will expand our examination to include alternatives to standard mats and frames, including metal, acrylic, and canvas. Now that we have our new 24” printer, we will demonstrate how to mount the canvas print you printed on the new printer to stretcher bars ready for wall mounting.
This workshop will be limited to 10 people so that everyone will get a chance to cut their own mats. Register Now!
