Mark “Geo” Thomas: Finding Light in the Dark
Art is a personal endeavor. One’s expression is empowered by the illusion of security that comes with exploring in the dark of night. Stealing away after dark, Geo seeks unique visions while others may be indoors reading by a lamp or dining with friends bathed in chandelier light. The dark world outside is alive and awaiting engagement.
This exhibit grew out of Geo’s propensity to wander the byways of California at night. He seeks unique visions that cannot be seen with the naked eye. With the aperture held open, he awaits in the blackness, anticipating the capture. He stows away in the quiet secret of the dark, finding the heart of each story.
This work was captured in Sacramento, Oakland, Napa, Berkeley, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.
