Huntington Witherill: Enigmata

The title of this exhibit, Enigmata, refers to a puzzling or inexplicable situation. Through this abstract series, Huntington Witherill invites viewers to use their imaginations, memories, and visual sensibilities to interpret his mysterious images.

Huntington Witherill combined photography with digital freehand drawing and sketching to produce Enigmata, a creative series of abstract digital collages. Stray hints of reality are incorporated in fantasy-based abstractions and metaphors to create a puzzle (an enigma). Witherill designed these images to encourage viewers to use their imaginations and knowledge to solve each visual puzzle.
