ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS: Earth, Wind, Fire and Water
In celebration of Photography Month, Viewpoint Photographic Art Center’s annual spring Open Call juried exhibit is entitled ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS: Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire. Through the ages, ancient Greeks and other cultures believed the material world was comprised of these basic elements. For the exhibit, photographers considered a vast universe of imagery to depict one or more of these elements in a photograph that illustrated the elements’ presence in our contemporary world. One hundred thirty photographers from 5 states coast to coast submitted images. The juror, Terry Nathan, photographer and Professor in the Land, Air and Water Resources Department at UC, Davis, offered his expertise and unique perspective in shaping the exhibit.
Fifty photographs selected from over 300 entries, ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS: Earth, Water, Wind, and Fire represents a truly remarkable collection of works. Congratulations to the exhibiting artists and the many other talented artists who entered their work. Visitors to Viewpoint April 5- May 6 will see a vibrant and unique photographic exhibit.
