Michele McCormick: Avian Artistry
Pre-pandemic, Michele McCormick viewed migratory birds as a seasonal photographic opportunity. She knew that Northern California hosts a variety of wonderful birds throughout the year: some are based here, some come for specific seasons, and some stopover on migratory routes to other destinations.
When Covid deprived McCormick of the ability to travel, she sought inspiration closer to home. As she photographed the birds that flock to and through this region, she launched an in-depth exploration of the avian world and discovered a new year-round passion. She is out and about throughout this region, seeking birds, and working to capture those moments that are emotionally evocative. Avian Artistry showcases many of the region’s winged wonders in various stages of grace.
